In anticipation of the release of "Linger" tomorrow, Madison shared the lyrics to the song a day early:
On the morning after he put me out Like a cigarette in the rain Whiskey down the drain I reach for you but you ain’t there to touch me back Yeah, you can’t take me back
Those silly fights and sleepless nights All the times I said I couldn’t take another day Well now I’d beg God for just one more…
But you still linger, you’re still here I can feel you with me at every moment With every breath and tear Yeah, you linger I can’t take back the words we said Remove your memory from my head I can still remember the touch of your fingers Yeah, you linger
That sweatshirt I tried to throw away Well it’s still here today And God it smells just like you Those shadows on the wall, your laughter in the hall Sometimes I forget you ain’t here at all
They say there’s a story in everything Well my house is full of books And I can’t bear to read another word…
[Chorus]
I still blame myself for when you left Maybe you wouldn’t have had that accident And you’d still be here to love me But as I lay these flowers down I find myself lost in conversation With that polished stone beneath the willow tree
[Chorus]
Yeah, you still linger

The second single from Small Town Small Talk will be "Reno." It goes for adds at country radio on May 27 and follows Madison's seventh Number One hit, "Linger."
Madison describes the new single as something of a lovechild of Reba McEntire's "It's Your Call" and "Whoever's in New England." In it, the female narrator's husband frequently steps out, telling his wife that he's traveling for business (more specifically saying 'Reno' as in the city in Nevada). One day while he's away, Madison's character receives a phone call from a woman who she refers to as Reno by saying "Reno called" when confronting her cheating husband upon his return home. (In doing so, she implies either that the woman's name is Reno or is merely personifying the city of Reno)
"It's really one of those songs that just kind of hits you. It tells a familiar story in an interesting way, and the way the hook works out is where it really grabs you. Like, imagine the tension when the man walks in and she says 'Reno called' and he has to face the music. You find yourself feeling for this woman and the kind of hell her no-good husband has put her through." -- Amanda Madison

"Dorothy, Come Back Home" will be released on October 28 as the third single from Small Town Small Talk. The mid-tempo song talks about a young woman who runs away from her home in small town Kansas, because she needs to get out and experience something different, but her friends and family are left wishing for her to someday "come back home." The character's name acts as a subtle reference to The Wizard of Oz.
